There are two buildings to be inspected, they are:

1.       The apartment, and

2.       The industrial building

Apartment

External Walls

One of the external loadbearing walls is 3m from the side boundary. You do not recall having any documentation for the FRL of the loadbearing or non-loadbearing parts of the wall.

You arrive at the newly finished apartment. There may be some variations from the original plans due to the client’s requests.

Stairs

There are no handrails installed on the stairs.

You enter the front door and see the stairs leading up to the top floor apartment.

Apartment Bedroom Hallway

There are no fire sprinklers, and no smoke alarms or detectors, installed in the hallway ceiling.

You enter one of the apartments and make your way to the hallway outside the bedrooms.

Industrial Building

External of Building, Area 1

All external walls are more than 3m away from the property boundary or any other buildings.

You arrive at the newly finished industrial building. There may be some variations from the original plans due to the client’s requests.

External of Building, Area 2

You do not see a fire hydrant installed. You know there is a local fire brigade 7km away that can use fire hydrants.

You’ve walked around the entire premises.

Exit Door

There is no exit sign installed on, above or adjacent to the exit door.

You enter the inside of the industrial building.
