Building and Construction Career Kickstarter

The Building and Construction Career Kickstarter program is designed to equip learners with the basic skills and knowledge required to enter the building and construction industry. The program consists of units of competency selected from the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) CPC40120 and covers four crucial areas: legal requirements, cost estimation, work health and safety, and site communication and administration.

Upon completion, graduates can work on projects such as Class 1-10 (maximum of 2 storeys) and Class 2-9 Type C construction. This program provides a strong foundation of technical and managerial skills, making graduates highly sought after by employers in the industry. It also serves as a stepping stone for further studies and career growth.

Course Breakdown

The Building and Construction Career Kickstarter program requires the completion of 4 units which are derived from the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) CPC40120.

Students will have up to 6 months to complete this program. If the learner requires more time, please see extension options in our student handbook or contact our office.

These units of competency have been selected in consultation with industry experts along with our facilitators who draw upon real-life case studies and examples to ensure the knowledge you gain is practical and applicable to the industry.

Completion of this program allows graduates to receive four (4) credit transfers towards the full qualification Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) CPC40120.

Delivery Options

This program is available through our online learning portal with full support provided by our student support team. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) can be conducted for one or all units. Speak to our team about applying for RPL. Participants applying for RPL will be required to provide 2 industry referees who can validate previous roles and experience. Blended learning options are available allowing participants to conduct a mix of both online training and recognition of prior learning (RPL).
